Witch Hazel

A northeast native, usually as multi-stemmed understory tree or large shrub 15-20 ft tall. Happy in partial shade. Small, distinctive, confetti-like yellow blooms in late fall, by far the last flower of the year, after leaves have dropped. A stunning magical moment of bloom when the rest of the landscape is shutting down.
