Order now for weekend pick up! Or come by and shop

In this early spring season, we have plants available both as potted and as bare-root. As we progress into May and beyond, our inventory will be available only potted.

You can place an order online, to be picked up during our open hours on the next weekend day, or you can come by without a pre-order to shop.

~Open Hours~

The last two weekends in April we are fulfilling pre-orders placed in January-March. We are glad for you to come shop if you have some patience as we also serve our pre-order customers. Inventory is available both bare root and potted. Thank you!

Our normal retail hours begin in May and continue through mid July. Most inventory is potted at this point.

Saturdays  9-4:30

Sundays 10-4:30

Please contact us if you would like to come out for a visit outside our open hours! You can try texting Nicko at 802-272-5880 if it is short notice.

Orders are for PICK-UP only.

WE DO NOT SHIP PLANTS.

What are bare-root plants? They are just that: dormant, healthy plants with little or no soil on their roots. They need to be planted promptly but can be kept several days if the roots are kept cool and moist (not freezing). Bare-root trees are a great value and perform well.

There are several species and varieties we do not offer as bare-roots, including hardy kiwi, honeyberry, and seaberry. You can access our full offerings through the website, including potted items. In some cases we have both bare-root and potted versions of the same varieties. The bare-root plants are generally a good bit cheaper, though the potted plants come with nice soil and are sometimes larger.

Picking up:

Please plan to pick up your order the weekend after you place your order, between 10-4:30 either Saturday or Sunday. If those times don't work for you, you can email easthilltreefarm@gmail.com to schedule an alternative pick-up time, but plan to pick up your order within a week of when you place it.

Most orders should fit comfortably in a station wagon or hatchback vehicle.

If you've ordered bare root plants, it can be helpful to bring materials to wrap the roots of your plants if you have it; a tarp or old large plastic sheets or bags work well. We will also have plenty of materials on hand if needed.

Park along the road or pull into the driveway if there is space.

Most orders should fit comfortably in a station wagon or hatchback vehicle.

Bare root plants want to be planted promptly. They will be OK for a few days if the roots are kept cool and damp. Burying the roots in a pile of mulch, compost or some loose soil in a garden bed works well. Please be sure to read our Resources page for additional tips on planting!

Substitutions:

Sometimes we sell out of an item between the time when you place your order and when it is processed, or a mistake in our online inventory results in an order for an item we do not have. Our generic policy is to substitute with a similar item when available (e.g. a different similar variety of blueberry), and to refund that item if there is nothing similar that we can substitute. Refunds will be processed at the time of pick-up, so you can decide whether you want to receive a cash refund or choose a different item to purchase on-site with your credit.

If you know you do not want any kind of substitutions, please check the "no substitutions please" box on the View Cart page.

If your planting fails:

We work hard to ensure the plants we sell are ready to succeed and that you have the information you need to get them off to a good start. If the plants fail to leaf out due to something on our end, we are sorry, and we will offer a replacement or credit equal to the price paid for the plant.
