Basswood tree

Basswood (Tilia americana) is an uncommon multi-stemmed tree native to our hardwood forests. It is a fantastic tree for all kinds of wildlife, but especially our pollinators. It is a large tree, growing upwards of 70 ft. Its smaller, European cousin littleleaf linden (Tilia cordata) is often planted as an urban shade tree.
