Red Twig Dogwood

Red-twig or red-osier dogwood is one of the most attractive shrubs in the leafless winter landscape with lovely red stems. The larger clumps we sell are 'Baileyi', a cultivar of this native shrub, selected for rapid growth, extra-vibrant red stems, and lack of the suckering or spreading otherwise typical in the species. Easy to grow and does well even in wet soils. Clusters of white flowers in late spring are followed by dark berries for the birds in fall. Typically grows 6-10 ft tall if left unpruned, but stems can be regularly pruned to the ground to keep a smaller size and the most color.
