Reliance Peach

Developed by Irwin Meader in NH. Reputedly the hardiest peach variety. Large crops of sweet, awesome peaches. Ripens in late August.

Self-fertile.

Peaches are marginal in much of Vermont. That said we have gotten outstanding fruit for several years despite some winter damage. Peaches are vigorous and quick to bear but winter will likely eventually wreck them.

Plant in a well drained location with good sun. With good soil and fertility they can be fast growing and quick to bear. If possible plant in a location where the soil will will be shaded from winter sun, but good during the summer, often on the north side of a building works well. Cold soil in the spring can delay flowering and help protect from frost damage.

We sell the hardiest peaches we can but do not guarantee the hardiness of peach trees.
